Featuring two of the country’s leading thinkers on the subject of the British empire and its impact on the world, we are thrilled to be hosting this special in conversation event on the opening day of the ‘Beyond the Page: South Asian Miniature Painting and Britain, 1600 to Now’ exhibition. Listen as exhibition co-curator Hammad Nasar and author and journalist Sathnam Sanghera talk about Sathnam’s newly published book. Empireworld: How British Imperialism Shaped the Globe looks at just how deeply British imperialism is baked into our world. Sathnam will be signing copies of the book after the event. They will also discuss some of the key themes in the exhibition, which explores the role that British incursion into South Asia played in the evolution of historic miniature painting, and its link to the revival of this art form over the last two centuries. Sathnam and Hammad’s work is changing the way we think about our histories. Book now for this unmissable event! Doors open at 10am. Standard – £ 10. Members – £ 8.
